Your blog posting can make or break the level of ’success’ you experience with your site. The consistency with which you post new blog entries is of course very important however other factors are just as influential. In order to increase blog traffic you want to supply your readers with useful information but you also want to give them a bit of variety as well.
Here are 3 ways in which you can ’spice’ up the entries you post so that readers will come away with something unique and/or different every time.
Switch up Your Topics
Of course your blogging site will have a central theme but that does NOT mean you should focus your posting on topics that are always directly related to it. A little deviation is necessary in order to give your readers a more rounded perspective on the main topic itself. This will also help break up the ‘monotony’ for both the reader and yourself, the author, by exploring other ‘avenues’ that touch upon the central theme of the site. Variety is the spice of life!
Above all if you are trying to create a brand or reputation you must always be honest, so do not lie! In time you will realize that most of your blog’s readers are quite knowledgeable when it comes to the internet and how blogs work. This is especially true if you are serious about blogging for profit online.
On your blog, as well as any other website you run, it is always a good tactic to include a page for site terms and conditions of use. By doing this your blog’s readers will appreciate that you are getting money for some of these adverts that your blog is displaying. If you are blogging for profit then tell your readers and they will not think that you are trying to dishonest with them.
You see, people buy people.
People buy from people that they trust, and can relate to.
Using descriptive words, whether it’s a personal blog or a business blog is a good way to introduce products, views, or even telling your audience about your thoughts and feelings, whatever they might be
Blogging, came about in the early 90’s, when the internet was more low key so to speak to the wider audience we know today
Blogging is easy to set up, you don’t necessarily need a website name or even a site its self, as there are a few blog providers out there who offer the service free of charge to everybody and anybody who wishes to do so.
Like I have mentioned above, now a days, a lot of people are writing blogs to generate an income online (business blogs)
Not Being Personal
Remember you are just one person, with opinions, tell people about them. You are not some huge news site and a professional writer! A couple tips to help you do this:
1. Include an “about me” page in your blog.
2. Write like you are talking to someone, do not refer to yourself as “we” or anything like that, and be personal.
3. Include photos of vacations, videos, or anything like that to show your readers you have fun, you know.
Not Having Interest in Your Niche
This is a very important thing if you own a blog. You must enjoy the niche you blog about, otherwise it will be very hard to maintain your blog and update it with new content. So when choosing a niche make sure it is something you are passionate about and enjoy writing about. If you have a passion for your niche it will be much easier to run the blog and eventually make money from it!
Not Updating
Make sure to update your blog at least 5 times a week, people love to see new posts and if they realize you update a lot there is a more of a chance for them to visit your blog again! A blog post does not take very long, maybe an hour tops for me, sometimes even less than that. And I usually write around 800 words in each post, but I am a perfectionist, so most likely it will take you less than an hour.
Not Replying to Comments
This can be a very big mistake for anyone who owns a blog. Always make sure to reply to the comments people leave. I mean think about this, if someone asks a question and you help them out, do you think they will return to your blog? What about if you simply don’t reply to their comment, do you think they will return?
