Article marketing is truly a science.
Why do I say that? Well, because it is! If you’re new to article marketing, you may be thinking that it’s probably pretty easy to get started, that there’s not much to it, you just write an article, throw a couple links on the end and watch the traffic and money roll in.
This is NOT the case however. There is so much more to article marketing than that.
One thing in particular that many newbies don’t quite understand is the importance of keyword research. Nor do they understand how to do it correctly. Thus, what I want to do here is outline the exact keyword research method that I use to find great and profitable keywords.
Now, don’t be surprised if the first time you try this method you don’t get quite the results that I do, it DOES take time to master and it DOES take some practice, but the important thing is that you’ll be getting started.
Alright, so step one is to go ahead and go to the Google keyword research tool. It’s pretty easy to find, just Google “keyword tool” and you’ll have no trouble finding it. Once there, you’re going to enter in a niche that you’ve thought of, and go ahead and hit enter.
Now, what you’re going to do is arrange the results from most to least local search volume. In addition change the filter to exact match searches instead of broad match searches. This will give you a much better idea of a given keywords value.
Now, once you find a couple keywords the process is simple, Google the keyword. Now, open up each of the top 10 results. For each page check it’s page rank in Google. If you don’t have a tool to do this there are tons of browser plug ins available that will do it for you, again, return to Google and look for SEO plugins.
Now, a keyword is generally open for the taking if you see 3+ page rank 1 or less sites in the top 10. This means that there is very little competition for that keyword and you shouldn’t have much trouble ranking for it.
Well, there it is, a guide to keyword research! Hopefully you’ve found this guide helpful!
