Flex circuits assembly is a highly delicate sum of several circuit implemented on a wide range of electronic devices, both of small and large-scale use. The ability to successfully manufacture complex, integrated flexible interconnect is driven by a number of elements. Flex circuits, flexible electronics or flex circuit boards have been defined by Institute of Printed Circuits as “patterned arrangement of printed wiring utilizing a flexible base material with or without flexible cover layers”. It is a technology that brings together electronic circuits through setting up of electronic components with high-performance, flexible base materials.
There are four types of flexible printed circuit board. This division is based on functions. They are: lead line, printed circuit, connector, and integration function system. The flexible circuit connector includes an isolative housing mounted to the rigid circuit board. In all, it is obvious that with such varied features and uses flexible boards have emerged as a top choice as far as the electronic industry is concerned today for PCB Manufacturers.
The largest of use of flexible circuits can be seen in portable electronic products. These include notebook (NB), mobile phone, personal digital assistant (PDA) and information appliance (IA). The flexible printed circuit board, for example, can work as an interface between a liquid crystal display (LCD), a floppy disk driver (FDD), a hard disk driver (HDD) or a compact disc read only memory driver (CD-ROM) to a motherboard. Such is the wide usefulness of Flexible circuit boards. Electronics parts can be a pain to choose. It’s often hard to tell from manufacturers’ datasheets if a part will fit your design. Tactile switches, also called a momentary button or push-to-make switch, is commonly used for input and microcontroller resets. This type of button creates a temporary electrical connection when pressed. Tactile metal dome arrays are custom membrane switches consist of metal domes loaded on a polyester sheet backed with pressure sensitive adhesive. Dome arrays are more cost effective than applying individual domes.
